5 Ways To Increase Productivity in 2025!

As moms, we often feel like we’re constantly running a marathon without a finish line. Between work responsibilities, household management, and caring for our families, finding time for ourselves can seem impossible. But what if I told you that with a few strategic approaches, you could transform your daily routine and create more space for what truly matters?

Tip #1 Intentional Goal-Setting

The beginning of each month is the best time to create smart and measurable goals. Setting monthly goals help you stay focused and motivated. By breaking down larger objectives into manageable steps can make huge changes in your overall life. Personal development goals, professional objectives, relationship goals, health and wellness targets, or a financial milestone are all great areas to set goals in. You can make it even more intentional by including your family as well. When setting goals for each month, always reflect back on the previous month. Are there things that you can improve on? If the answer is yes, then make it a new goal that you will commit to work on during the month. Some of my recent goals include increasing my water intake, working out 4 times a week, and no more aimless scrolling on my phone before bed.

Tip #2 Create A Personal Morning Routine

I know this one can be a doozy at first. Who really wants to wake up an hour, or even 30 minutes before their kids? The secret to a productive day starts before your children wake up. This isn’t about perfection, but all about intentional self-care and preparation. A personal morning routine looks different for everyone and truly doesn’t have to be extravagant. In order to make waking up earlier a consistent habit, I suggest starting with a small goal. It can be as little as 10 minutes, especially depending on what time your kids wake up on any given day, just as long as whatever it is feels the most restorative and revitalizing to you so that you actually look forward to it. How we start our day sets the tone of our day, the day will feel more attainable and less chaotic when you wake up on your own terms and give yourself time to ease into the day.

Tip #3 Start With Prayer or Meditation

I am a firm believer in the quote “The body achieves what the mind believes”. Beginning your day with prayer or meditation sets a powerful tone. This one practice can help with multiple things such as reducing stress, increase mental clarity, provide emotional balance, help to connect with your inner strength, creates a sense of purpose. I pray everyday for guidance to show up for my family each day and to be the best wife and mom I can be with the tools I currently have. This book has really helped me find time to be in the word daily. The chapters are short and easy reads that aren’t overwhelming and even include great thought provoking prompts. I also spend this time to ask for help with any areas in my life that I’m struggling in. There are so many things in life that we don’t have control over, but we can control our thoughts and desires of how we would like our lives to look/feel.

Tip #4 Strategic Budgeting

Update your budget month to month by adding in expenses that vary from month to month. When you update your budget, you have to intentionally think about events that will happen throughout the month. Since there usually aren’t many changes from month to month this will give you time to reflect and plan for birthdays, car maintenance, school events, holidays, etc. Decide on the total amount of money that you will need for each event and then include these in your budget. If you don’t currently have a budget, Rocket Money or YNAB are great tools to start with. Having a budget is a great tool that tells you where your money is going.

Tip #5 Plan Something Fun to Anticipate

This is major! Mundane tasks and routines are important but it’s just as important to make time for the things you enjoy. We deserve focus so much of our energy to make others around us happy that we sometimes forget to enjoy life. Scheduling something fun and exciting gives you something to look forward to, which is an instant mood booster and motivates us to get through those hard days. This could look like:

  • A coffee date with a friend
  • A weekend family activity
  • A personal hobby time
  • A movie night
  • A self-care treatment
